This is a moderate 5.2 mile out-and-back hike with approximately 800ft of elevation gain. The trail offers beautiful scenic views of Suicide and Lily Rocks and crosses seasonal streams along the way. Please note: an Adventure Pass ($5/day or $30/year) is required for parking at this hike and can be purchased at the Shell Gas Station in town.

Idyllwild Animal Rescue Friends, a non-profit 501(c)(3), sponsored Idyllwild's first-ever mayoral election where a golden retriever named Max became Idyllwild's first mayor. Mayor Max, III serves the town of Idyllwild, along with Vice Mayor Meadow and Deputy Mayor Mitzi.
Max is usually in town to visit with locals and visitors on Friday at 4:00 p.m. and Saturday/Sunday at 2:00 p.m. His usual visiting location is from his Mayor-Mobiles in front of Wooley's.
